Collecting information like names, addresses, and phone numbers from individuals is one of the business operations of Jobsquare. These individuals are our past, current, and prospective employees and other individuals Jobsquare jointly and severally deals with (“Data Subjects”).
To protect Data Subjects who provide Jobsquare with their personal information and to maintain their trust, Jobsquare complies with applicable rules, regulations, and data protection laws to protect and secure every personal data the company handles.

Scope
This data policy applies to every Jobsquare’s employee and other external business partners like vendors, suppliers, contractors, and more who have access to collecting, receiving, sending, and processing personal information in any way for Jobsquare with part or fully automated processing means. This Policy is also applicable to third-party data processors in charge of processing personal data received from Jobsquare.
General Principles for Personal Data Processing
Jobsquare has its focus and commitment to maintaining all the Personal Data processing principles in the NDPR. To prove this commitment, Jobsquare obeys the basic principles of processing Personal Data which are Fairness, Lawfulness, and Transparency. At all times, the processing of Personal Data must be lawful, fair, and transparent. This means every collected and processed Personal Data by Jobsquare is following the lawful, legitimate, and specific purpose consented to by the Data Subject.

Jobsquare will protect the confidentiality and integrity of Personal Data both in physical and digital format and prevent the intentional or unintentional compromising of personal data by establishing adequate controls. Data Subjects’ data must be protected from authorized access from changes to make sure it is accurate and reliable.
Personal data processing done by an unauthorized employee is considered authorized. Employee access to personal data is only done when appropriate for the task or purpose in question. However, they are forbidden to make the data accessible in any way and not to use the personal data for commercial or personal purposes.
Employees at Jobsquare must be informed by the HR department to maintain the privacy of personal data from the beginning till the end of their employment.
Personal Data Retention
Jobsquare shall store, retain, and destroy every personal information in line with regulatory and legislative guidelines and also carry out periodical reviews of the retained personal data to confirm the validity, purpose, accuracy, and requirement to retain.
The duration of storing Personal Data without prejudice to the Document Retention Policy of Jobsquare and the extent allowed by applicable laws is determined by the following:
- The contract terms agreed between the Data Subject and Jobsquare for as long as the Personal Data is needed for the purpose it was obtained.
- If there is a required retention period or the relationship/transaction has statutory implications.
- If the Data Subject expressly requested for the Personal Data to be deleted as long the request will be treated only where the Data Subject is not being investigated it may make Jobsquare retain the Personal Data.
- If Jobsquare has a lawful basis for retaining Personal Data beyond the time it is needed to serve the main purpose.
- Personal Data can be retained by Jobsquare for historical research, archiving, statistical purposes, and scientific research for the public interest notwithstanding the pursuant and foregoing to the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
- Personal Data in possession of Jobsquare shall be erased by Jobsquare when it is not needed again or in line with the Retention Policy of Jobsquare, as long as no regulation or law is in force that requires Jobsquare to retain the Personal Data
Accountability
Jobsquare shows accountability following the obligations of NDPR by monitoring and improving different data privacy practices within the Jobsquare environment.
An employee that breaches this policy may face internal disciplinary action including employment termination and may face criminal or civil liability if their act violates the law.
Data Privacy Notice
Personal Data is considered confidential by Jobsquare and must be protected from unauthorized disclosure and use. Jobsquare makes sure all Data Subjects are informed about the use of their Personal Data and seeks and acquires their consent where needed.
Jobsquare will show the Privacy Notice using any medium from where Personal Data is collected and processed. To ensure transparent and fair Personal Data Processing, the Privacy Notice must include:
